Athens Heart Center and Specialty Clinics (AHCSPC or AHC&SPC) is a multi-specialty group of healthcare practices and clinics which strive to achieve the highest levels of patient care, compassion, and innovation. Our system covers northeast Georgia and includes Athens Heart Center, Athens Sleep and Wellness Center, Family First Healthcare in Lavonia and Family First Healthcare in Athens. Our roots are in our local community, and we continue to treat every patient like family, while continually evaluating ourselves and improving.

We offer patient assistance for many of our services to help make healthcare more accessible. However, please note that our pain management services do not have assistance available, and copays and coinsurance will be required at the time of service.

You only need a referral if you wish to participate in our pain management program. For all other services, no referral is necessary. We recommend checking with your insurance provider to confirm whether a referral is required, ensuring you receive the best coverage for your appointment.

If we are treating you for the condition related to your disability request, we can schedule an appointment to discuss completing the paperwork. Please note that there is a processing fee of $35.00 for filling out the paperwork.

Yes, it’s a good idea to bring any written reports or test results to your appointment. However, please note that we are unable to view results stored on multimedia files.

Yes, if our doctors determine that a referral to another provider is needed, we will handle the referral for you. If it requires a referral from your primary care physician, we will inform you so that you can contact them to arrange it.

No, we do not offer physical therapy services at our facility.

 
To ensure timely medication refills, it’s important to keep all scheduled appointments to avoid interruptions in your treatment. If you need a refill for a non-controlled substance and are up to date with your appointments, our office will be happy to assist you with that refill.

We accept most major insurers. However, we recommend contacting the member services number on the back of your insurance card to confirm your coverage before scheduling your appointment.

Copayment and coinsurance amounts vary by insurance plan. We recommend contacting the member services number on the back of your insurance card to review your specific plan details.

 

Yes, we offer discounted self-pay pricing, and we can provide a list of service costs over the phone. Please note that all fees are due at the time of service.

 

You can call any of our office numbers, and we will gladly transfer you to our offsite billing team. The best number to reach us is the Health Wealth Safe line at 877-581-8810, available Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. You can also contact Athens Heart Center at 706-208-9700.

 

By law, our medical records department has up to 30 days to fulfill your request. However, we strive to provide your records as quickly as possible. If you have a specific deadline, it’s helpful to note that date on the release of information form.

 

Yes, if you request printed copies of your records, there is a fee of $35.00. This fee is payable at the time you complete the release of the information form.

No, by law, we can only release our own records to you. Any records sent to us from another provider or facility must be obtained directly from that office.

No, you do not need to submit separate requests. Any records created under our various services will be compiled and released to you upon your request. Please be sure to specify on the release of information form that you would like to obtain your complete records.

The release of information form you sign in our office is valid for 90 days from the date of your signature. You may also revoke your authorization in writing at any time after signing the form.
